In short

AV Tester runs on your computer. Camera images, microphone recordings, sound tests and reports stay on your computer and are never sent to us. We only handle what we need to sell you a license and keep it working.

What we collect

WhatWhyWhere it comes from
Name, email, company name and VAT number (if you give one)To send your license key and receipt, and to help you if something goes wrongYou, at checkout
License key, number of computers, purchase dateTo know which keys are validCreated when you buy
Computer name and a computer IDTo tie a key to one computer, so it can't be sharedThe app, when you activate
Time of the last license checkTo allow 30 days offlineThe app, about once a day
Anything you write in Report a problemTo fix the problemSent by you, by email

The computer ID is a scrambled code made from your computer's system ID. It cannot be turned back into the original ID or your serial number.

When a trial starts, the app sends an anonymous signal (computer ID code, app version, operating system) so we can count installs.

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don't sell your data.

Who else handles it

Some of these companies are based in the US. Data sent there is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the EU's standard contractual clauses.

Legal basis and how long we keep it
